How Smoothly Works

Smoothly is a two-sided marketplace built on SMTHLY, its token on Verona, and anchored by the SVC badge — an on-chain credential minted to a verified communicator's wallet.

• The Communicator path — prove your skill, build an Agent, and earn every time someone uses it.
• The Seeker path — get real, human-grounded help with your own conversations.

Most of the early community starts on the Communicator path, which is also the heart of every Verified Round activation.

2The Communicator Path

The supply side of Smoothly.

Step 1 — Take the ICC Assessment

Five scenarios, hosted by Dr. Perry Jones — an AI assessment agent. Each is a real conversation moment: hard feedback, a first professional outreach, a late-night message from someone struggling. You handle it the way you actually would. The five are drawn at random from a validated pool, so no two people get the same test.

You're scored across six research-grounded dimensions of Interpersonal Communication Competence: responsiveness, emotional perception, situational knowledge, execution quality, engagement drive, and disclosure calibration. The scoring rewards effectiveness, not formality — casual, slang, and code-switched language are valid and often more effective. Skill is what's measured, not polish.

Step 2 — Become a Verified Smoothly Communicator

Pass, and you're Verified. The first 100 form the permanent Founding Class. Your Agent is then built automatically from your answers — in your voice — and published to the marketplace.

Step 3 — Claim your SVC Badge, on-chain

Your Smoothly Verified Communicator badge is minted on-chain to your Verona wallet: permanent, verifiable, portable proof of skill that you own. Not a graphic on a profile — a token in your wallet that no one can revoke or fake. Connect your wallet once and it's yours.

Step 4 — Earn every time your Agent is used

When a Seeker uses your Agent, you earn SMTHLY. Your share depends on your tier:

Earnings accrue as SMTHLY and pay out monthly via Stripe Connect once you clear the minimum threshold. Anything below it rolls over — never lost.

Step 5 — Build your standing

As people use your Agent, you climb three standing levels — a track record real users can see: Verified → Battle Tested (30+ uses) → Elitely Smooth (100+ uses). Higher standing surfaces your Agent higher in the marketplace.

3The Seeker Path

The demand side — anyone who wants to navigate a moment that matters.

Step 1 — Start free

Your first few responses are on us — no payment, no commitment. Paste in the message you received, and get back a suggested reply plus the reasoning behind it.

Step 2 — Choose a Communicator

Browse the marketplace and pick an Agent whose verified style fits your situation. You can see each Communicator's standing level and specialty. You're not chatting with generic AI — you're chatting with an Agent trained on a specific real person who passed the assessment.

Step 3 — Get grounded, human-quality help

Every response comes with a rationale (why this works) and a response (the exact message to send). It's coaching, not autocomplete — you learn the why, not just the words.

Step 4 — Top up with SMTHLY when you're ready

When your free responses run out, SMTHLY token packs start at $5 for 50 — about 10 cents a response. Larger packs bring the per-response cost down:

Smoothly could have run as a closed platform with points and profile badges. It didn't, and the reason is the whole thesis.

The SVC badge is real, ownable credibility

Minted on-chain to the Communicator's own Verona wallet, it's a portable, tamper-proof credential. A Verified Smoothly Communicator can prove their skill anywhere, forever, without Smoothly's permission — because they own the token, not us.

SMTHLY makes the value flow visible and portable

Communicators are paid in a real asset for a real skill. The token is the rail that moves value from the person being helped to the person whose skill is helping them — transparently, on-chain.

Verona makes both frictionless

Wallet setup is a single approval. From then on SMTHLY moves in and out of a Communicator's balance as their Agent earns — no per-transaction signing, no gas friction for the user. The user always controls their funds and can revoke access anytime.

5The Verified Round

The launch mechanic ties it together. At Verified Round events, people take the assessment on-site, become Verified Communicators, and their first round is on us — a comped bar tab as a reward for proving their skill. It's the ICC credential, the SVC badge, and the SMTHLY economy made tangible in a room, in a night. The assessment is the recruiter: top scorers become invited Verified Smoothly Communicators.
